We’ve had a super start to 2018 diving straight into Bunbury Summer School. Over 600 people have been attending locations around central Bunbury learning about family history, how to paint, play music, create their own natural tinctures and balms, and lots more. The program wraps up on Saturday with Pottery Wheel Throwing, Blooms in the Wild, and Indigo & Rust Dyeing.
We then head back into our regular programming and our 16 membership groups are back in attendance. Our Start Arts programs are bigger than ever, with classes in Leadlighting, Learn to Sew, Garment Pattern Making, Blooming Arts, Design to Print, Animals and Birds in Oils, Knot Thinking Embroidery, Landscapes in Pastels, Drypoint Etching (printmaking), Introduction to Pottery, and Pottery Throwing (wheel work). Our youth art classes are back again re-named UpStarts, with Homeschool and Afterschool on Tuesdays (6-11), and Thursdays (ages 10+) for those who are after some more advanced skills.
Tuesday Club will be resuming with the regular blocks of Watercolours, Art All Mediums (morning and afternoon sessions), Mosaics, and introducing Painting After Dark, with Sarah McBride. Sarah has been teaching at SSAC for the last 2 years in oils. This course is available for those that want to do some casual painting but can’t find time during the day. As usual, Tuesday Club classes are BYO projects, whilst there is a facilitator on hand to give you support and advice with your work when needed.
