Artist Residencies

Artist Residencies

With thanks to the Australian Museums and Galleries Association’s Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) Program, Stirling Street Arts Centre completed renovations of a heritage studio in June 2022.

The studio once housed office staff before the completion of SSAC’s new building in 2020 and is now home to Artists in Residence.

Designed to offer professional development to working artists in the South West, our studio residency program provides artists with the opportunity to work in their own private studio, deliver workshops, exhibitions & public programs. Artists will also have a unique opportunity to work with Stirling Street Arts Centre membership groups, some of whom have been at the Centre engaging with traditional crafts since the 1970’s.

Artists in residence will be encouraged to work closely with community & membership groups, engaging in a reciprocal dynamic focused on skill sharing and mutual learning.

Open to emerging & established artists, application rounds will be ongoing.
