Clay, paper and paint has been my passion from early childhood. The first success was an art prize at school in my home town Johannesburg.
I attended night classes at the University of the Witwatersrand. Later on my painting was recognized in a TV show during a group exhibition. This was followed by 2 successful solo exhibitions and with various group shows.
While working in London for a year I extended my art knowledge & practice in the evenings at Chelsea Art School.
Australia’s great further education scheme enabled me to gain a Fine Arts degree at Edith Cowan University, Perth, followed by a post graduate diploma in Education at Notre Dame University Australia.
Since coming to Australia 39 years ago, with my husband and children, I have been a voluntary gallery guide, have taught school children and adults in many educational & arts organizations. I have directed plays, painted and designed costumes and sets in both amateur theatre and school productions.
Alongside teaching my art work has developed & evolved. I have won prizes along the way and I exhibit my work whenever possible, in public and private galleries & places.
I currently work in clay, wool, thread, paper, wire & fabric, producing small sculptures, jewelry, utility items, images & object d’art.
