We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated person to work with our office team, volunteer board and membership groups. Responsibilities cover a range of administrative duties, customer service as well as day to day marketing and educational program delivery.

Part – time 24+ hours a week, (weekends as required)

Role of position

To deliver inclusive education programs and marketing management for the Stirling Street Arts Centre


  • Develop and implement a range of classes and workshops to enable people to participate in arts activities
  • Coordinate SSAC art class, tutors and programs
  • Coordinate the delivery of the SSAC annual Christmas Craft Fair in November
  • Provide both internal and external reports as required
  • Maintain all necessary databases for the support and promotion of SSAC programs
  • Work with Administration to develop and deliver community events
  • Participate in and contribute to the SSAC events planning process
  • Develop and implement an SSAC marketing strategy including the monitoring and updating of the SSAC website and social media sites
  • Design any advertisements including newspaper, term brochures and annual BSS catalogue

Essential Criteria

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in website and social media management
  • Demonstrated understanding of arts education programs and creative/cultural industries
  • Demonstrated high standard of written and spoken communication skills
  • An enthusiastic, can-do approach to work
  • Demonstrated ability to work with community groups
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • General knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Acts

Possession of a current National Police Certificate – required to be provided by the successful candidate only, at the appointment stage

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in the community/not-for-profit sector
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • MYOB experience
