Redevelopment update October 2019

Work on the new building is in full flow, with construction moving closer to our old building this week. The builders have had to block access to our main door, meaning that we are only using the door in Studio 4 to enter and exit the building.

Looking further ahead, the centre will have to close early for the Christmas break on Monday 2nd December. This will affect some workshops in early December, and we are currently working on solutions to this fun challenge!

Monday 2nd December – Centre closed

Thursday 2nd to Friday 3rd January – Centre reopens – office staff only

***Monday 6th to Sunday 19th January – Bunbury Summer School***

Monday 20th to Sunday 26th January – Centre open – office staff only

Monday 27th January – Australia Day public holiday, Centre closed

Tuesday 28th January – Centre open as normal, subject to construction work

We are open during redevelopment work

Work will commence on building a new studio and admin space at the Stirling Street Arts Centre on Wednesday 1st May. The new building is necessary to meet the growing demand for additional services that the current facilities are unable to deliver due to space limitations and will include two large multipurpose spaces that have the flexibility for studios, exhibitions, lectures or presentations. The new building will also include a small meeting room that will cater for employee, board and group leaders meetings as well as new toilet facilities and a commercial kitchen for use by members and visitors.

We will lose use of our outside undercover area during construction work but the centre is open as usual for classes and groups.
